Hi my name is Darlene and I am a resident at Annette's Behind me Transitional Living. I’ve been here a little over 5 months now and I can't begin to tell you how much of a blessing it was to be accepted into this home. I was skeptical at first because I didn’t know what to expect, I never experienced moving into a complete strangers home but from day one Annette has made me feel at home. 

I would like to take the time to talk about my personal experience from February 2nd up to this point. 

The first week I was busy working and getting settled in, so I really didn't talk to any of the ladies here but Annette and I would talk and during my assessment she said that she wanted me to write down a three month plan and also a vision board of the things I want to accomplish. I have never made a vision board before. I must say the vision board works...along with the positive environment all the inspiration I get from Annette and Karen. These two women have helped me so much. 

Annette is really good at helping me stay focused, and being patient. She's also a good listener. I was so unsure of what I wanted to do after my release from prison. I didn't think that I would be able to get a good paying job. Being here at ABM has changed my outlook on the future. I now have confidence in myself, I believe being here has changed my life for the better. My family tells me the way I talk and think are different and they are happy that I'm here getting my life together. I'm excited about it all. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
